Service Advice

WHY SHOULD I CARRY OUT REGULAR SERVICE / MAINTENANCE ON MY COOLING OR HEATING SYSTEM?

There is a proven link between effective maintenance and energy efficiency. Properly maintained equipment will consume less energy and provide extended equipment life, as well as being more reliable, safer to operate, cheaper to run, better for the environment and more likely to provide prolonged comfort conditions for occupants.

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN SERVICING AND MAINTAINING MY SYSTEM?

Our qualified Technicians will inspect and clean your system, check electrical components, clean filters, check coils or burners, test thermostats and controller operation, test refrigerant levels and gas pressures, test for leaks, check bearings and fan motors, check compressor and reversing valve, inspect ductwork and zones, check and test drains, and inspection of all other system components.

WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF I DON’T SERVICE / MAINTAIN MY SYSTEM?

Even if your air conditioner seems to be running smoothly, it can lose about 5 or 10% of its operational efficiency every year. The cost of repairing a faulty system can be much higher than maintaining the system in the first place. Eventually without any maintenance the system may become noisy, inefficient, dirty, unhygienic, and its life will be greatly reduced.

FILTER CLEANING ADVICE

Keeping your air conditioning and heating filters clean, is an important step towards cleaner and better air quality in your home, not to mention resulting in better energy efficiency and lower running costs. When your air conditioning or heating filter becomes blocked or dirty, it results in a restriction of airflow into the system. This puts unnecessary load on the fan, and increases power consumption to compensate. Manufacturers generally recommend filter cleaning should take place every 2 weeks, but this time can vary depending on how regularly you use your system. Simply, the more you operate the system, the more often you should clean the filters. At Dawson Heating and Cooling we suggest filters should be cleaned once a month during seasonal operation.
